Audible Devices - Motion or back-Up Alarms:
The audible devices like motion alarms or back-up alarms produce sound which has to be loud enough in order to be heard above the noise that the forklift creates in the operating area.
The sound needs to be readily discernible from other audible devices or sounds within the work environment. Sound should be readily distinguishable from other noise or audible devices in the work area. The audible device can employee noise exposure and end up contribute to OSHA noise limitation; hence, care should be taken.
Determine the direction and distance the sound of the audible device is made more difficult because of the use of hearing protection. Audible devices could sometimes get deactivated from both operators and workers because they could find them irritating. What's more, audible devices can also be objectionable to nearby residents.
Additional Application and Operator Options:
Enclosed Operator Cabs: To be able protect the operator from the elements, enclosed operator cabs made of tempered glass are used to help prevent injuries and reduce other concerns. Additionally, these cabs feature an emergency exit via window removal. The levels of noise are reduced at the operator's ear due to additional sound proofing.
Operator Selectable Performance Modes: For each particular use, the operator is able to choose the performance need. What's more, it allows a supervisor to set the maximum performance of a model for an operator who is just starting to learn. Being able to adjust and lessen the maximum performance of the model allows a new operator to learn the machine's operating characteristics in a controlled environment.
Impact Monitor: When the impact monitor is disabled, a supervisor is needed to enable and override the model. This encourages the operator to be certain to manage the machinery in a more controlled way.
Panoramic and Dual Rear View Mirrors: These specific mirrors help to assist the operator in observing their tail swing area, and operating space behind the vehicle.
