Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescopic booms are large industrial machinery designed with a straight boom arm that is extendable. The boom is normally situated on a rotating turntable. The telescoping boom lifts are normally used for jobs that require tasks to be performed at heights that exceed other types of lifts. Like for example, workers are able to carry out exterior renovations or repairs on medium sized buildings but utilizing these lifts rather than having the extra work of setting up an outside elevator or a pulley system.
The boom lift is only designed to hold one individual. These buckets are better suited to particular jobs like electrical repair, as opposed to general maintenance or window washing. These lifts are available with both outdoor and indoor tires and come in electric and gas configurations.
Scissor Lifts
Scissor lifts are named for the cross-braces underneath the work platform. These braces squeeze together to be able to push the platform straight up. As these equipment should be positioned directly under the work location, these units are way more limited in their use as opposed to boom lifts.
Scissor lifts do, however, provide larger platforms that allow the operator controlling the lift to access a bigger work surface when the lift is raised. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of a problem with these models, because they must sit on flat ground in order to be utilized. Scissor lifts are ideal for being used for window installation or cladding, since they provide the employees with the desired mobility; they are also a great option for exterior repairs or window cleaning applications.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
Cherry pickers, boom trucks and bucket trucks each refer to the class a kind of utility vehicle used particularly for vertical work. Generally, these trucks have a cab. It is here where the driver sits and controls the machine. There is a bucket for where the employee could stand in addition to an actuator arm for lifting the boom and a winch for lifting.
Cherry pickers could lift workers up to heights that were previously inaccessible. The cranes function is to raise both heavy supplies and equipment for one location to another. There are different types of cranes which can perform a variety of purposes. Both of these different kinds of equipment excel at different tasks and are suitable for particular applications and completing particular jobs.
