Kinds of Hydraulic Cranes
One of the most popular cranes in the construction business is hydraulic cranes. They are used to construct everything from buildings and skyscrapers to freeway overpasses and roadways.
There is a huge variety of crane units, sizes and styles available on the market. There are lots of different kinds in order to serve a variety of different purposes in the industry. Choosing the right type of crane is very vital for making sure that the material could be transported safely and efficiently to the place it needs to get to in order for the construction process to start.
Truck Cranes
Truck cranes will usually have 2 different cabs. One cab is utilized to drive the truck unit when in transport mode, whilst the other is for controlling the crane. These cranes are very helpful for building locations where a crane is needed in many different places for the duration of the build. This is due to the fact that the crane could be easily driven from one location to another.
Moreover, the cranes can be transported to different construction locations on the road as they could drive themselves and this eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly reduces transport costs at the end of the day.
The truck crane however is not stable enough to handle all the major loads that a hydraulic crane could handle. Thus, so as to fix this issue, outriggers could be extended from the deck. The outriggers use hydraulic pressure to be able to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it balanced and stable.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
The crawler crane is unique in that it has big tracks on the base of the crane. These huge tracks are very like bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks allow the crane to successfully move around a construction locations.
