Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk along the machinery while they lift and move loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and therefore, it is not recommended to transport tall or unstable loads using these machines. A rider can be the right answer if you are looking for a cheap way of moving cargo from one place to another. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right option.
Order Selector
The order picker or order selector is a piece machinery made specifically for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are normally very narrow aisle vehicles that can work in aisles of less than six feet. They are very handy pieces of machinery during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
