Before anybody can utilize these devices, workers must be certified as operators.
Boom Lifts
The boom lift is a much more complex pieces of aerial lift equipment compared to a scissor lift. The boom lift normally has a much wider base to keep the lift anchored. It uses a jointed arm that has a bucket on the end of it. There is a control box situated in the bucket which allows the operator to raise and lower the bucket. Because the arm of the boom is jointed, it can move from side to side too. The boom lift looks like a metal scorpion's tail. Traditionally, it is used in construction applications outdoors. The boom lift is considered to be more risky to run compared to scissor lifts, therefore, operators should be licensed individually for these types of lifts.
