One can find a range of different ways which raise or lower lifts on a lift truck: rack and pinion lifts, scissor lifts, telescoping lifts, screw lifts and articulated lifts. Scissor lifts employ crisscrossed folding supports and a screw mechanism utilized to draw the members together. Rack and pinion lifts utilize a pinion, which is a small drive gear, to drive a straight-toothed rack to raise the cargo. The telescoping lift system is designed with many parts that extend and retract out of and into each other to achieve lifting action. Screw lifts use threads to raise the lift. Articulated lifts utilize a mechanism involving many parts that unfold or articulate. An articulated lift example is the "cherry picker."
Forklift Material Handling
There are a lot of reasons to keep up with changes in material handling processes. Material handling methods and the machines could be used to deal with additional SKUs, increased geographical coverage, and the requirement to lower inventories. Machines which are well ahead of the technological curve could help productivity maximization and increase effectiveness.
Forklift Battery & Charging Technology
The latest innovations on electric lift trucks have yielded higher capacities and longer run-times than ever before, which makes the decision to convert from the traditional internal combustion lift truck over to the improved electric models. Charger and battery combinations are providing much more power for longer periods than older systems could achieve. Enhancements in charger and battery technologies are not just making electric lift trucks more productive but they are making it possible to have more environmentally friendly warehouse operations.
These new batteries are called Li-ion batteries or Lithium-Ion batteries. This technology is still quite new, but Li-ion batteries show remarkable promise. They are not only smaller but could hold up to six times the charge of traditional lead acid batteries. Li-ion batteries have really low maintenance needs and are able to maximize opportunity charging through zero memory technology.
