Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Antioch

Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Antioch

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
You can usually find pneumatic forklifts in warehouses and shipping operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used to move materials and things around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight includes a pump that could raise the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single person.

To be able to prevent loosing control while raising heavy loads, pallet trucks must always be operated with care. Equipment must be inspected before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Check that the handle could smoothly turn. The pallet must be carefully stacked to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level found on the inside of the metal loop to be able to lower the forks and release the air in the pump. The forks can then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks must be in the middle to ensure equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not lift the pallet very high or the forklift could unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is truly dangerous to push the pallet in front of you as the thrust could cause it to go out of control. Slowly take turns and don't attempt to stop abruptly. Gradually stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks would lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
